20 of 20 people found the following review helpful Exactly What I Wanted, May 21, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Wenzel Kodiak Family Cabin Dome Tent (Sports) Wanted this tent for x-mas and the wife couldn't find it. Bought it for myself and am uber-pleased. Showed up in less time than they said (bonus!). Literally took it up to the mountains that weekend with the family. No problems at all. Easy setup- even by myself. Plenty of room for a double-high queen matress and all the junk that comes with camping with a wife and 2 girls.
Highly recomend it to anyone that has campers that want big-rooms, high head-room, and "camp" out of the bed of a truck.
16 of 16 people found the following review helpful Nice for weekend camping in good weather, June 26, 2011 This review is from: Wenzel Kodiak Family Cabin Dome Tent (Sports) My husband and I are traveling the state for our work this summer, and are tent-camping. This tent has been through 1 month of camping. In that month, a metal pole has snapped in half, and two guy-lines have torn from the seams in the wind. The tent fly is too small to cover more than a straight down mild rain. We have experienced much of the same rainy, windy weather as most of the country, and in week one, the tent started leaking at the zipper and around the edges. We are going to have to buy another tent after one month of camping, because this is not able to handle the weather. We do, however, recommend this tent for the size and height. The setup is not too bad for a large tent, with two people setting it up. This would be good for a nice summer weekend camp with no hint of rain in sight.
13 of 16 people found the following review helpful Flimsy and NOT free-standing!!!, June 13, 2011 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Wenzel Kodiak Family Cabin Dome Tent (Sports) I put up a tent every year in my yard from May through October as an extra room. I have been doing this for 10 years and have found that in the under $200 category, most of the cabin style tents will hold up to that much UV light, rain and wind (not tornadoes!)with little maintenance. This tent was a huge disappointment. It arrived with missing parts, which could have been remedied, but the fabric was really flimsy compared to Field and Stream and Coleman, which have worked fine for our purposes. (I usually use them one or two seasons and don't expect more in this price range) Also, this tent is not free-standing as the photo implies. You would have to stake it to death to keep it up in wind. I normally can put up a 10X14 foot tent by myself because most of them are designed with that in mind. I was unable to do that with this one--in fact, even with two of us, it was unnecessarily cumbersome. The floor fabric is much lighter weight than any of my previous tents and the design... Read more
